WE HAVE A SERIOUS PROBLEM
YRA has serious concerns about the level of dust and makeup of air swirling around Yatala/Ormeau.
Dust is being released in inappropriate quantities from large quarries in the Darlington Range.
It is acknowledged by quarries themselves that our local rock contains silica and asbestos.
Dangerous bio aerosols are also being released from local large scale composting plants.
People keep complaining but the problems continue unabated.
We demand authorities start to force recalcitrant businesses to stop polluting our air.
We demand that proper 24/7 air monitoring be installed asap.
We demand that air quality data be made available to the public as a matter of urgency.
